Mumbai:In a recent tweet shared by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that the Shiv Sena and BJP will jointly participate in all upcoming elections. Shinde, who is a member of the Shiv Sena party, which currently shares power with the BJP in Maharashtra, held a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis in Delhi on Sunday.
During the meeting, it was agreed upon that the Shiv Sena and BJP would contest future elections together, including the Lok Sabha, Assembly, and local body elections. The Chief Minister expressed confidence in their ability to contest and secure victories with a majority. In addition, discussions were held on agriculture-related issues and cooperation during the meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah.
It is noteworthy that last year, Eknath Shinde, along with 39 other MLAs, rebelled against the Shiv Sena’s leadership, which was undivided at the time. This revolt resulted in a split within the Shiv Sena and the subsequent collapse of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government. Following the split, Shinde joined forces with the BJP and ultimately became the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
