Bhubaneswar: A CBI team has reached the Odisha train accident site at Balasore. The team reached the spot after the Railway Minister announced that sabotage cannot be ruled out behind the tragic train accident.
The relay room can only be opened together by the station master and senior officials from the maintenance wing. Therefore, the CBI will investigate if sabotage occurred in the relay room of the railway station said a senior railway officer.
The Railway Safety Commission began its investigation into the train accident yesterday. The investigation is being carried for two days. The Commission examined the tracks, the interlocking systems, and the relay room.
The Commission also examined the accusation that the railway lines had a gap of 4mm; therefore the main line could not be set properly. The statement of the railway master has been recorded.
