New Delhi: In a major victory for India, the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has agreed to release Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman tomorrow.
Imran Khan’s decision comes after India stuck to its guns and demanded that the officer be released immediately and unconditionally. India had warned Pakistan not to use the IAF pilot’s custody as a negotiating tool.
“Pakistan is trying to create a Kandahar-type pressure but India will not give in; there will be no deal or talks on Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman’s release,” government sources said.
India remained adamant that Imran Khan walk the talk on dealing with terrorists on the basis of evidence given by India.
India’s unyielding position against Pakistan has now reaped rich dividends. The Pakistani leadership had to concede defeat after they lost all bargaining chips against India.
