New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed its second supplementary charge sheet against three individuals in connection with the abduction and brutal murder of Naresh Singh Bhokta by the banned naxalite organisation CPI (Maoist).
The charge sheet has been submitted to the NIA Special Court in Patna, Bihar. The accused, Vinay Yadav, Naval Bhuiyan, and Jilebiya Yadav, all residents of Bihar, are charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967. This development follows the recent extensive searches conducted by the NIA in Jharkhand and Bihar related to the case.
So far, a total of nine individuals have been arrested in the case. The original case was registered by the Bihar Police on November 3, 2018, and later taken over by the NIA on June 24 of the following year. Earlier this year, on February 25, the NIA filed a supplementary charge sheet against one accused. During their investigation, the NIA uncovered the involvement of high-ranking CPI (Maoist) commanders in the conspiracy leading to the brutal murder of Naresh Singh Bhokta, which was carried out to induce fear among the people.
Recently, the NIA also conducted raids at seven locations in Jharkhand and Bihar as part of their ongoing efforts to gather evidence in this murder case.
