New Delhi: In the first press meet since Indian airstrikes on 26 February, Air Chief Marshal B. S. Dhanoa confirmed that the Air Force strike team had hit all the Jaish-e-Mohammad terror camps at Balakot in Pakistan.
The Air force Chief’s remarks come amid opposition’s demands for proof of the airstrikes. He asked why the Pakistani Prime Minister was responding if the airstrikes hadn’t destroyed the targets.
He also said that it is not the job of the Air Force to count the casualties.
The Air Chief Marshal said that the MiG-21 Bison, which was piloted by Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman to intercept Pakistani F-16, is a capable fighter jet.
He also said that Abhinandan Varthaman will return to cockpit depending on his medical tests. He told that the pilot will receive all the required medical treatment.
