New Delhi: The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, announced in the 102nd edition of radio program, ‘Mann Ki Baat’, that India has set a target of eradicating the tuberculosis (TB) by the year 2025. He said that ‘Ni-kshay Mitra’ has taken charge of this movement against the disease.
The Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Ni-kshay Mitra initiative) has been implemented by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
In his monthly radio program, PM Modi said, “India has set a target of eradicating TB by 2025. Ni-kshay Mitra has taken charge of this movement against TB. Thousands of people are adopting TB patients in rural areas. This is the true strength of India. The youth is also contributing to achieving the target of eradicating TB by 2025.”
During the Mann ki Baat radio program, the Prime Minister also remembered Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He said that there is a lot to learn from his governance and his management skills. The works done by Chhatrapati Shivaji especially regarding management and the navy, increases the pride of Indian history even today, said the PM.
Modi also brought to attention the efforts of the people in Hapur district in Uttar Pradesh to revive a river. The river had gone extinct but the people have revived it. The river’s source is also being developed as an Amrit Sarovar.
The Prime Minister also spoke about the coming International Day of Yoga. He said that the theme for this year is ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. This expresses the spirit of Yoga that unites and takes us together.
PM Modi will lead a yoga session for the first time at UN Headquarters on the 9th International Day of Yoga. It will be celebrated on June 21.
He also highlighted the strength of disaster management that India developed over the years. As an example he said that Cyclone Biparjoy wrecked so much havoc in Kutch, but the people of Kutch faced it with full courage and preparedness.
