Patna: Coming out of the opposition parties’ meeting in Patna, Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, said that the opposition parties had a good meeting and that it has been decided to fight the elections together. Nitish Kumar also said that another meeting of the opposition parties is planned and will be held soon.
The meeting was attended by top leaders of opposition parties like Rahul Gandhi, MK Stalin, Lalu Prasad Yadav etc.
Meanwhile, BJP President JP Nadda in a public rally at Kalahandi recalled the time when Indira Gandhi had declared emergency and jailed Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav. Nadda added that now both these leaders are welcoming Rahul Gandhi.
Nadda said, “I am recalling my childhood days. Rahul Gandhi’s grandmother Indira Gandhi had put Lalu Yadav for 22 months in jail and Nitish Kumar for 20 months in jail but today they are welcoming Rahul Gandhi in Patna.”
The BJP President added, “Today when I see them welcoming, I wonder what has happened in politics. From where they started and where they have ended up.”
Interestingly, it is reported that Nitish Kumar chose Patna as the meeting place of opposition parties as a symbolic gesture to the call made by Jayaprakash Narayan in 1974 at Gandhi Maidan in Patna to declare revolution against Indira Gandhi.
