New Delhi: In a drastic revelation, Home Minister Rajnath Singh claimed that India had conducted three surgical strikes in the past five years. However, he added that the details of the third clandestine operation will not be made public.
Speaking at a public meeting in Karnataka, the Union Minister said that India knows about only two surgical strikes. The first is the surgical strike in retaliation for the Uri attack in 2016 and the second is the airstrikes at Balakot last month to avenge the Pulwama attack.
Meanwhile, the opposition, in an effort to dent the strong nationalist posturing of the NDA government after Indian airstrikes, are questioning the veracity of the IAF. The opposition had also demanded proof for the surgical strikes in 2016.
However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has exposed the opposition and said that their statements have helped Pakistan and demoralized the Indian security forces.
