New Delhi: The Delhi Police have launched a probe into a report of an unidentified flying object, suspected to be a drone, allegedly spotted over the official residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital on Monday morning.
According to officials, the Special Protection Group (SPG) informed the Delhi Police control room at 5:30 a.m. about the sighting of an unidentified flying object in the Lok Kalyan Marg area, which falls under a designated “no-fly” zone.
“The NDD control room received information about an unidentified flying object near the Prime Minister’s residence. The SPG contacted the police at 5:30 am,” stated the Delhi Police.
Extensive searches were conducted in the vicinity, but no such object has been located thus far, authorities confirmed. The Air Traffic Control Room (ATC) was also contacted, and they reported no detection of any flying object near the Prime Minister’s residence.
“At present, due to the sensitive area, the police are investigating. Things will be clear only after verifying the facts,” officials added. More details are awaited.
