New Delhi: India is on an aggressive mode against terrorists and insurgents that threatens its sovereignty and security. While India conducted airstrikes in Pakistan to eliminate Islamic terror camps, the Indian forces on the Eastern border was conducting another surgical strike jointly with Myanmar to destroy Chinese backed insurgents.
From February 17 to March 2 the Indian security forces were involved in a joint operation with Myanmar that extended for thousands of kilometers along the Indo-Myanmar border to target Arakan Army and the Naga terror group NSCN(K).
While the Arakan Army is raised by the Kachin Independence Army is held as a terrorist organization by Myanmar, the NSCN(K) is a dreaded terror organization that targets India.
Arakan Army has been conducting terror activities against Myanmar with the support of China.
Both terror organizations were planning to attack Kaladan multi-modal project, a transit project that will help connect Kolkata with Sittwe port in Myanmar. The project is also useful to connect Mizoram with Kolkata by reducing the travel distance by 1000 kms.
In two phases, Indian security forces destroyed new terror camps near Mizoram border that were targeting Myanmar. In return, the Myanmar defense forces destroyed the Head Quarters of NSCN(K) near the border of Arunachal Pradesh.
India has once again showed that the country stands firmly against terror groups that are a threat against development of the country and the peaceful coexistence of different people.
