New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his best wishes ahead of the launch of India’s lunar mission Chandrayaan-3 scheduled today.
Prime Minister tweeted that this remarkable mission will carry the hopes and dreams of our nation. He also added that 14th July 2023 will always be etched in golden letters as far as India’s space sector is concerned.
The GSLV Mark 3 launch vehicle will lift off from Satish Dhawan Space Center at Sriharikota at 2.35 pm, said a report.
The journey from Earth to the Moon will take about a month and the spacecraft is expected to reach Moon on August 23. Upon landing the lunar rover will operate for fourteen Earth days.
Chandrayaan-3 will make India the fourth country after US, China and Russia to land its spacecraft on the surface of the moon and demonstrate the country’s abilities for safe and soft landing on lunar surface.
