New Delhi: Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan said on Tuesday that he will contest the next Lok Sabha polls in 2024 from the Hajipur constituency in Bihar. While declining to share details of his talks with BJP leaders, including Home Minister Amit Shah and party president J P Nadda, he asserted that his concerns related to the Lok Sabha and Bihar assembly polls have been addressed positively by them.
Addressing a press conference, Paswan, however, made it clear that he will contest from Hajipur, a Lok Sabha seat currently represented by his estranged uncle and Union minister Pashupati Kumar Paras, who, in turn, reiterated his claim on the constituency.
“I definitely say that I will contest the Lok Sabha elections from Hajipur only. It is not right to share the talks that took place with the BJP on a public platform, but it is certain that the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will contest the Lok Sabha election from Hajipur,”Chirag Paswan said.
Lok Janashakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan on Monday joined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) after meeting with BJP National President JP Nadda and Union Minister Amit Shah.
The Bharatiya Janata Party is to hold a meeting with 38 parties of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the national capital today to mark the completion of nine years of Modi government.
