Kolkata: The violence that erupted in West Bengal since the commencement of the local government election has still not subsided. Reports of murders, arson, looting etc have been reported from the TMC ruled state.
The latest horrific news coming from West Bengal is the fate of two tribal women who were stripped naked, beaten up and paraded by an angry mob at Pakua Hat area of Bamangola Police Station in Malda. The video of the incident is spreading on social media.
Though the incident occurred three days back, the government led by Mamata Banerjee has not done anything to bring the culprits to justice. Opposition parties including the BJP have criticized the Chief Minister’s silence over the ghastly incident.
BJP IT Cell National Convener, Amit Malviya, shared the video of the unfortunate incident on his social media handle.
In the video it can be seen that two tribal women were stripped naked in front of a crowd and then beaten up severely. The victims were thrashed by a huge crowd including women. The police response in the incident has been cold and unresponsive.
Amit Malviya said that this assault on tribal women should have broken Mamata Banerjee’s heart and she should have acted, rather than express mere outrage, as she is also the Home Minister of West Bengal.
The BJP leader said that the horrific incident took place on 19th July. Amit Malviya said that Mamata Banerjee did not condemn the barbarity nor did she express pain and anguish on the incident. He said that the CM did not condemn the incident because if will expose her failings as the Chief Minister of West Bengal.
Amit Malviya also accused the police of being a mute spectator.
