BJP releases the first list of 184 candidates: Narendra Modi to contest from Varanasi, Kummanam Rajasekharan leads the fight in Kerala

New Delhi: The BJP has released its first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi will contest from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP party President is all set to contest from Gandhinagar constituency in Gujarat.

The candidate list was announced by Union Minister J. P. Nadda who is also the General Secretary of the Central Election Committee of the BJP.

Other heavyweights in the first list include Home Minister Rajnath Singh who will contest from Lucknow, Road transport Minister Nithin Gadkari from Nagpur and V. K. Singh from Ghaziabad.

Also, Union Minister Smriti Irani will be contesting from Amethi against Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Union Minister Kiren Rijiju will contest from Arunachal West.

Coming to Kerala, the BJP announced candidates for 13 seats. Former Mizoram Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan will contest from Thiruvananthapuram.

Attingal – Sobha Surendran

Kollam – Sabu Varghese

Alappuzha – Dr. K. S. Radhakrishnan

Ernakulam – Alphons Kannanthanam

Chalakudy – A. N. Radhakrishnan

Palakkad – C. Krishnakumar

Ponnani – Prof. V. T. Rema

Malappuram – Unnikrishnan Master

Kozhikode – Adv. K. P. Prakash Babu

Vadakara – V. K. Sajeevan

Kannur – C. K. Padmanabhan

Kasaragod – Raveesh Thantri Kundar
