Sikar (Rajasthan): Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated various development projects, including the release of the 14th instalment of the Centre’s flagship scheme Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) at a programme held during his visit to Rajastan’s Sikar on Thursday.
Under the PM-Kisan scheme, an impressive amount of Rs 17,000 crore was disbursed directly into the bank accounts of more than 8.5 crore beneficiaries. The scheme, initiated in February 2019, provides financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per year to all eligible landholding farmers, distributed in three equal instalments every four months.
During the event, Prime Minister Modi also dedicated 1.25 lakh PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSKs) to the nation. These centers are designed to offer comprehensive support to farmers, serving as a one-stop solution for their various needs. From access to information on agricultural inputs, soil testing facilities, seed, and fertilizer information, to details about government schemes, the PMKSKs are envisioned to become a reliable and accessible resource for farmers across the country.
Additionally, PM Modi launched “Urea Gold,” a new variety of Urea coated with Sulphur. This innovative approach will help address soil deficiencies in Sulphur and aid in better agricultural productivity.
During the event, PM Modi also marked the onboarding of 1500 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) onto the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) platform, promoting digital connectivity and facilitating smoother transactions for farmers.
Following his engagements in Rajasthan, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit Rajkot, Gujarat. There, he will inspect the newly developed Rajkot International Airport, spread over 2,500 acres at a cost of over Rs 1400 crore. He will also inaugurate various development projects at the Race Course Ground in Rajkot, with a total worth of over Rs 860 crore.
On the following day, PM Modi is set to inaugurate ‘Semicon India 2023’ at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. During the event, he will address the gathering on the theme of ‘Catalysing India’s Semiconductor Ecosystem.’
