Bengaluru: The Bengaluru police took notorious terror accused, Thadiyantavide Nazeer, from the jail for instigating youths to join Lashkar-e-Taiba while in prison. It was found out that he had helped the youths to join the terror organization and planned various terror attacks also.
The police had nabbed five youths recently for having terror links. The arrested youths gave the statement that they were instigated into terrorism by Thadiyantavide Nazeer. These youths were planning to conduct terror attacks. The police also found out that Thadiyantavide Nazeer also helped them to contact with terror organization Lashkar-e-Taiba.
The police revealed that the youths were initiated into terrorism by Nazeer and that he was behind the planning of terror attacks to be carried out. A team of Central Crime Branch had arrested five youths – Sayeed Suhail, Umer, Janid, Muhtasir, and Sahid – from a house at Sultanpalya.
Thadiyantavide Nazeer is an accused in the 2008 Bengaluru serial bomb blasts case. He is currently incarcerated at the Parappana Agrahara jail. He became accustomed to the youths after they were jailed in connection with a murder case in 2017.
The accused, who got out on bail, were planning terror attacks for the past few years. The police said that with this purpose in mind the youths began collecting materials including explosives and weapons.
The police had confiscated seven guns, forty-five bullets, knives, walkie-talkie sets, 12 mobile phones, and several sim cards.
The security forces are yet to nab five more individuals of the terror gang which has ten members. Bengaluru City Police Commissioner, B Dayananda, said that search for the five absconding terrorists is progressing.
