Gurugram: According to Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij, the violence that erupted during a procession in Nuh on July 31, which resulted in the tragic loss of six lives, should be treated as part of a larger conspiracy. Authorities are actively delving into the incident to uncover the truth behind the orchestrated violence.
Addressing the media, Minister Vij stated, “The situation in Nuh is currently under control. Approximately 44 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been lodged in connection with the violence, and a total of 116 individuals have been arrested thus far. Our ongoing investigation indicates the presence of a conspiracy. The manner in which stones, weapons, and bullets were seized suggests a mastermind behind the orchestrated violence. A thorough inquiry is underway, and stringent actions will be taken against those involved in the disturbances.”
Earlier on the same day, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar confirmed that six deaths had been reported in connection with the violence in Nuh district. Khattar urged the public to remain composed and refrain from being swayed by rumors. He also affirmed that 116 arrests had been made in connection with the July 31 violence, and the toll, which included two home guards, had reached six.
Highlighting the subsequent security measures, Khattar stated, “Twenty paramilitary force companies and 30 units of the Haryana Police have been deployed across the state following the violence. Fourteen units have been stationed in Nuh, with an additional three, two, and one unit positioned in Palwal, Faridabad, and Gurugram, respectively. The current situation in Nuh is stable, and the surrounding areas are on high alert.”
In light of the July 31 violence, security has been bolstered in the adjoining districts of Faridabad, Palwal, and Gurugram.
Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala emphasised that the violence in the Nuh district could have been prevented if the organisers of the procession had provided complete information to the district administration. Chautala, who also leads the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), a member of the ruling coalition, pledged that stringent action would be taken against those held responsible.
Meanwhile, Bajrang Dal member Monu Manesar, who leads a cow vigilante group, refuted allegations of instigating provocative speeches or participating in rallies. He alleged the conspiracy against Congress MLA Mamin Khan, attributing responsibility for the violence to him. Manesar clarified, “Congress MLA Mamin Khan is responsible. My work revolves around cow protection, and I consistently collaborate with the administration. However, Hindus will not tolerate the injustices they endured in Haryana.”
