THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: President Droupadi Murmu is set to undertake a visit to Tamil Nadu from August 5 to 8. Today, the President is scheduled to visit the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve and engage in interactions with Tamil Nadu’s Mahouts and Cavadies.
Furthermore, the President will partake in the 165th Convocation ceremony of Madras University in Chennai on Sunday. On August 6, 2023, she will address the 165th convocation of the University of Madras in Chennai.
Governor R.N. Ravi is expected to host a banquet in her honor during the evening of the same day. The President’s itinerary also includes meetings with the members of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) of Tamil Nadu at Raj Bhavan, the unveiling of the portrait of Mahakavi Subramaniya Bharathiyar, and the participation in the renaming ceremony of Durbar Hall at Raj Bhavan to Bharathiyar Mandapam.
On August 7, 2023, the President will inaugurate the Linear Accelerator at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in Puducherry. Additionally, she will remotely inaugurate a 50-bed Hospital in Villianur under the National AYUSH Mission and attend a civic reception held in her honor by the Government of Puducherry.
After participating in various programs, the President will return to Delhi on the 8th.
