New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi solemnly marked the sombre anniversary of India’s partition terror. Offering his respects to the valiant souls who perished during the partition and evoking the harrowing ordeals endured by the populace during that tumultuous period, the Prime Minister expressed profound sorrow over the nation’s losses.
He emphasised the significance of this day as a time to honour the courageous individuals who sacrificed their lives in the aftermath of partition. Within the commemoration, the Prime Minister also made reference to the widespread communal conflicts that scarred the partition era.
Additionally, he underscored that this occasion serves as a poignant reminder of the hardships and trials faced by those compelled to undertake forced migrations. Back in 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi decreed that August 14 would be designated as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day.
