New Delhi: President Draupadi Murmu paid homage to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today on his memorial day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Transport Minister Nidin Gadkari, Home Minister Amit Shah, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan also accompanied the President.

The Vice President also shared that Vajpayee’s visionary leadership, wisdom, and focus on good governance helped shape India at a critical time. He tweeted that his greatness is an inspiration to all.
The Prime Minister said that Vajpayee was a leader who played a crucial role in leading the country to progress and taking it to the broadest levels of the 21st century. India achieved great things under his leadership. The Prime Minister also took to Twitter to say that he joins the 140 crore people of India in paying homage to Atalji on this day.
Union HM Amit Shah said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee is a leader who laid the foundation for good governance with his strong will. He was a person who served the nation based on ideology and principles. He introduced the power of India to the whole world through Pokhran. Amit Shah also said that he is the leader who brought the party from nothingness to great heights.
