New Delhi: The latest opinion poll conducted by Times Now ETG suggests that if elections were to take place today, Narendra Modi would be on the cusp of securing an unprecedented third term as the Prime Minister of India. The survey reveals that Modi could become the first Prime Minister since Nehru to clinch three consecutive terms in office. The survey comes a day after Prime Minister Modi’s Independence Day address, during which he expressed his confidence in returning in 2024 to showcase the nation’s progress.
As per the ETG opinion poll results, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is projected to seize over 300 seats, while the opposition coalition known as the I.N.D.I.A bloc is expected to attain between 160 and 190 seats. The survey’s calculations indicate that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) might secure a range of 296 to 326 seats. Despite the united front presented by opposition parties under the I.N.D.I.A bloc’s banner, aimed at challenging the Modi administration in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, the survey implies that these collective efforts may not suffice to dislodge the NDA government from its central position.
The survey underscores the NDA’s sustained dominance across the Hindi heartland, boasting an impressive success rate of 80%. This emphasizes the lasting impact of the Modi wave in the northern regions of India. Remarkably, the BJP is predicted to register significant victories in key states, including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. The ETG survey’s predictions indicate that the NDA could secure around 70 out of 80 seats in these states.
Concluding its findings, the survey casts doubt on the potential impact of Rahul Gandhi’s “Bharat Jodo Yatra” on the electoral outcome. Over all the survey projects that Modi’s “Vikasit Bharat” (Developed India) mantra is poised to outweigh the opposition’s concerns about “democracy under threat.”
