New Delhi: In a move aimed at providing relief to commercial enterprises, the Centre has announced a substantial reduction in the price of commercial LPG cylinders. According to sources within oil marketing companies, the price of commercial cylinders has been slashed by Rs. 158, bringing the retail cost of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder to Rs. 1,522 in the national capital, Delhi. This price adjustment comes as a welcome development following a prior reduction in the price of domestic cooking gas.
This latest reduction follows a similar move in August, when the price of commercial cylinders was decreased by Rs. 99.75. Additionally, earlier in the year, prices for commercial LPG cylinders were reduced in May and June. In May, oil marketing companies made a significant cut of Rs. 172 per cylinder, while in June, the reduction was Rs. 83 per cylinder. In April, prices witnessed a decrease of Rs. 91.50 per unit.
It is worth noting that petroleum and oil marketing companies raised the prices of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs. 350.50 per unit and domestic LPG cylinders by Rs. 50 per unit on March 1 of the same year.
