NEW DELHI: Delhi is preparing to host the G20 summit on September 9 and 10. In view of the upcoming event, Delhi Police provided training to the newly recruited commandos in ‘helicopter slithering’ at the Delhi Police Academy in Jharoda Kalan.
The purpose of this training is to prepare the commandos for potential evacuation scenarios during disasters or terrorist incidents, according to the police. They noted that the exercise was being conducted using an M-17 Helicopter.
The primary objective of this technique is to deploy soldiers in inaccessible locations or areas where helicopter landings may not be feasible within a short time frame.
The police force is fully prepared to address any potential terrorist threats or attacks. Suman Nalwa, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Delhi Police, stated that all logistical arrangements, along with the necessary equipment, are in place to effectively manage any law and order challenges that may arise.
