LUCKNOW: Muslim priests from Uttar Pradesh are demanding an apology from Tamil Nadu Minister Udayanidhi Stalin for offending the religious sentiments of Sanatana believers. The priests assert that Udayanidhi Stalin has no right to hurt the sentiments of Sanatana Dharma followers and should apologize for his anti-Hindu remarks concerning one of the world’s oldest religions.
Priests representing Shia and Sunni organizations have come forward to express their dissatisfaction with Udayanidhi’s comments. They have also called on the anti-BJP front ‘INDIA’ to clarify its stance on Sanatana Dharma,” as stated by Maulana Habib Haider, a senior Shia priest and the general secretary of the Shia Sunni Ulema Front.
Shahbuddin Rizvi, the president of All India Muslim Jamaat Maulana, emphasized that Udhayanidhi had no right to target any religion, stating, “Such statements divide people on the basis of religion. Religions are meant to unite people, not divide them based on caste.”
Udayanidhi Stalin made the controversial statement while attending an event in Chennai organized by the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers and Artists Association (TNPWAA). During the event, Udayanidhi likened Sanatana Dharma to a contagious disease and called for its eradication.
Strong public anger is mounting in response to Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remarks.
