Chandigarh: A regional Congress leader, who serves as the party president of Ajitwal block in Moga district of Punjab, has been killed. Baljinder Singh Balli (45) was the victim. Information is emerging that Khalistan terrorists are behind the murder.
The armed men who arrived at Baljinder’s residence in Delhi used force to subdue the young man. Subsequently, the assailants fired at him. Baljinder, who was seriously injured in the firing, was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his life could not be saved.
Meanwhile, within hours of the shooting, Canada-based Khalistani terrorist Arshad Dalla claimed responsibility for the incident on Facebook. The police have stated that they have initiated an investigation into the incident. Senior Congress leader Partab Singh Bajwa and the Punjab Congress president expressed their condolences for Balli’s demise.
