Varanasi: The temple town of Varanasi was covered in a sea of saffron when the hero of Hindutva arrived to lead a massive road show through the heart of the city. People waited for two hours to become part of India’s hope for the future.

The road show covered a six kilometer route which began from Lanka area and ended at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Prime Minister began his road show by offering garlands at the memorial statue of Banaras Hindu University founder Madan Mohan Malviya.

Thousands thronged the streets and roads of Varanasi, shouting ‘Har Har Mahadeva’ to welcome Narendra Modi as he led the road show through the cheering crowds.

Reaching Dashashwamedhi Ghat, Narendra Modi, performed the Ganga arati amid holy chants and incense. The whole air was filled with spirituality and serenity.

After the road show, Narendra Modi thanked the surging crowds and said that he was indebted to the people of Varanasi. He said that after being elected he could deliver big development to the constituency and added that the whole nation is aware of the progress done in the holy city.

The Prime Minister said, “Whatever happens, I will always think about the people of this country. I have lived by only one mantra all my life which is India First and I will make sure that I live up to the expectations of the people of Varanasi.”

He also spoke strongly against terrorism and said that with the power that the holy city gave him, he could fight against the terrorism in its own language.

Narendra Modi said, “This new India will not tolerate terrorism but will give terrorists a fitting reply in their own language.”

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, BJP National President, Amit Shah, and Uttar Pradesh BJP State President, Mahendra Nath Pandey.

Narendra Modi will file his nomination papers tomorrow. Top BJP leaders and chiefs of other NDA allies is expected to be there for the occasion. Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states will be also present.
