NEW DELHI: On September 26, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his warm greetings to his predecessor, Manmohan Singh, on the occasion of Dr. Manmohan Singh’s 91st birthday.
In a post on Twitter (formerly known as X), PM Modi said, “Birthday wishes to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji. I pray for his long life and good health.”
Born in 1932 in the Gah region, which is now part of Pakistan, Manmohan Singh served as the Prime Minister of the country from 2004 to 2014. He is a prominent economist who held the position of Director at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) from 1976 to 1980 and served as RBI Governor from 1982 to 1985.
Furthermore, Manmohan Singh also served as the Finance Minister in the government of then Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao.
Currently, Dr. Manmohan Singh is a member of the Rajya Sabha.
