New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today extended wishes to IAF officers on the occasion of 91st Indian Air Force Day ans said “their great service and sacrifice ensure our skies are safe.” On this occasion, the IAF has organized the Air Force Day Parade at Air Force Station Bamrauli at Prayagraj.
In a post on X, he shared a video montage on the Indian Air Force’s valour. “Best wishes to all air warriors and their families on Air Force Day. India is proud of the valour, commitment and dedication of the Indian Air Force. Their great service and sacrifice ensure our skies are safe,” the prime minister said in his post.

President Droupadi Murmu also extended wishes to IAF officers and wrote, “Greetings to all our air warriors and their families on Air Force Day! Our Air Force has been scaling greater heights. The nation is proud to have such a strong, courageous and dynamic Air Force which is always prepared to face challenges. I salute our inspiring heroes who not only protect the skies but also remain in the forefront for humanitarian assistance.”

This time it is the first Air Force Day Parade to be commanded by a woman officer, GP Capt Shaliza Dhami. She is also the first woman officer of the IAF to command a combat unit. Also for the first time, the parade will have an all women contingent comprising of the newly inducted Agniveer Vayu women, who shall march shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. The Parade also included a flight of Garud Commandos of the IAF for the first time. The Garud have recently completed 20 years of service to the nation.
