CHANDIGARH: A threatening letter, purportedly from Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Kareem Ansari, has been received by several railway stations in Haryana. The letter warns of potential bomb attacks at ten railway stations in Haryana on November 13. The Railway Police Force (RPF) received this letter at the Jagadhri railway station.
In addition to the railway stations, the threatening letter also mentions the power plant in Jagadhri.
Upon receiving the threat on October 26, the Ministry of Railways in Haryana issued instructions to local police, the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Administration, and state intelligence agencies to take precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incidents.
Around 11 a.m. on October 26, the Station Manager at Yamunanagar Jagadhri Railway Station in the Ambala division received a postal letter from Kareem Ansari, who claims to be an area commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba in Kashmir, Pakistan. The letter was addressed to RK Tiwari, the station superintendent of the Yamunanagar Jagadhri Station.
The letter stated that in retaliation for the deaths of jihadists in Jammu and Kashmir, the terrorist group plans to bomb Jagadhri Railway Station, as well as stations in Saharanpur, Ambala Cantt, Panipat, Karnal, Sonipat, Chandigarh, Bhiwani, Meerut, and Ghaziabad, and even Kalka on November 15.
The threatening letter also mentioned plans to bomb the Jagadhari Electricity Plant, Rail Workshop, Railway Car Shed, various bus stops, and temples during Diwali.
In response to the threat, the RPF has increased surveillance and patrolling at all locations.
