Dombivli: Keraleeya Samajam Dombivli’s newly constructed Model English school will be inaugurated on November 26 at 4 pm. The old building at Pandurang Wadi in Dombivli East, has been demolished and a seven-storey school building with state-of-the-art learning facilities has been constructed.
Virendra D Mhaiskar, an alumnus of the model school and chairman of IRB Infrastructure Developers Limited, will inaugurate the new school building. A cultural gathering and mega stage show will be held at KDMC (Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation) ground at 6 pm.
Maharashtra Public Works Minister Ravindra Chavan and Kalyan Lok Sabha member Dr. Shrikant Shinde will grace the occasion as special guests. Prominent personalities from social and cultural domains will participate in the event. Following this a mega stage show will take place, led by renowned playback singer Ranjini Jose, singer Rituraj (Richukuttan) and comedians Vithura Thankachan and Akhil Kavalayoor.
Though the foundation stone of the model school building at Pandurang Wadi was laid in November 1972 with the construction of the first phase, it was only inaugurated in January 1983 after the completion of the fourth phase of construction. The construction of the new school building started in 2020 after completely demolishing the old school building that had been functioning well for 35 years. The construction was successfully concluded this year, in 2023.
The Keraleeya Samajam of Dombivli is delighted that the dream project of the Samajam has materialized, and they are gearing up for the inauguration on November 26. The school has 36 classrooms, 2 libraries, modern labs, computer classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, an auditorium, and a comprehensive range of learning amenities for the students.
Expressing his welcome on behalf of the governing body, Chairman of the Keraleeya Samajam Varghese Daniel extended a warm invitation to everyone to attend the event.
