Bishkek: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Kirgistan in the afternoon today for Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit. The two day summit will take place at Kirgistan capital, Bishkek. Narendra Modi will not use the Pak airspace on his way to Bishkek, but will fly over Oman and Iran instead.
Prime Minister will hold bilateral talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin as well as Chinese President Xi Jinping. Modi will also meet Kirgistan President Sooronbay Jeenbekov during his visit. PM will witness some cultural programmes too in Kirgistan.
India took a stand to omit discussions with Pakistan unless the latter stop helping terror activities. India will further intensify its decision in the backdrop of the terror attack in Anantnag last day that claimed the lives of five CRPF personnel. So there will not be any discussion with Pak PM Imran Khan at Bishkek.
“The leaders participating in the summit are expected to focus their discussions on the global security situation, multilateral economic cooperation, people-to-people exchanges and also on topical issues of international and regional importance,” an MEA statement said.
