Jammu and Kashmir: Indian security forces have scored a major win in the fight against terrorists today after it eliminated Jaish-e-Mohammad operative Sajjad Maqbool Bhat and his handler, Tauseef in Anantnag district. Sajjad is considered one of the main conspirator of the Pulwama attack on 14 February which martyred 40 CRPF soldiers.
Investigators had found out that it was Sajjad’s car that was laden with explosives and rammed into the convoy transporting CRPF soldiers in Pulwama.
Unfortunately an Indian Jawan was martyred during the gun battle that broke out this morning which resulted in the deaths of the two terrorists.
Sajjad and Tauseef were also behind the IED attack on a mobile patrol vehicle of 44 Rashtriya Rifles in Pulwama yesterday in which two security forces were martyred.
A statement of the Jammu and Kashmir police said, “On a credible input, a cordon and search operation was launched jointly by the security forces at Marhama in Bijbehara area of District Anantnag. As search operation was going on, hiding terrorists fired on the search party. The fire was retaliated. One Army Jawan Anil Jaswal sustained gunshot injuries and attained martyrdom at hospital. Two terrorists were killed; their bodies were retrieved. Terrorists have been identified as Sajjad Maqbool Bha and Tasseef of Jaish-e-Mohammed.”
Sajjad and Tauseef were both from Marhama and have links with the JeM that was behind the Pulwama attack on 14 February.
The Pulwama attack had set off a series of high voltage exchanges between India and Pakistan. Indian Air Force entered Pakistani soil and bombed JeM terror camps and killing hundreds of terror operatives. Though Pakistan responded with their Air Force, they could not achieve their objective.
Indian security forces have been actively eliminating those behind the Pulwama attack and has been actively suppressing the armed conflict against the country with utmost resolve and strength.
