Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Swarved Mahamandir, the world’s largest meditation center, in Varanasi on Monday. Accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, PM Modi explored the expansive center, boasting the capacity to accommodate 20,000 individuals simultaneously for meditation.
The Mahamandir, a seven-floor architectural marvel, features verses from the Swarveda carved onto its walls. During the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi expressed pride in the nation’s declaration of freedom from a slave mentality and highlighted the rich cultural heritage.
As part of his two-day visit to Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency, the Prime Minister is set to dedicate and lay the foundation stone for various development projects totaling about Rs. 19,150 crore. The itinerary includes participation in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Sewapuri, a rural area within his constituency. Additionally, PM Modi will witness live sports events featuring participants from the Kashi Sansad Khel Pratiyogita 2023.
An official release emphasized that over the past nine years, the Prime Minister has prioritized the transformation of Varanasi’s landscape and the improvement of living conditions for residents in Varanasi and its surrounding areas.
