Chennai: Protests erupts against Chief Minister MK Stalin’s visit to Delhi for the I.N.D.I. Alliance meeting while southern Tamil Nadu was suffering due to the flood crisis. The state unit of BJP has come forward against the Chief Minister pointing out that Stalin had come to Delhi to attend the I.N.D.I. Alliance meeting on the pretext of meeting the Prime Minister. The BJP also condemned Stalin for mirroring his father M Karunanidhi, who prioritized his personal interests over the well-being of the people.
In 2009, during the massacre of Tamil people in Sri Lanka, Karunanidhi, who was the Chief Minister, was engaged in seat-sharing discussions with Sonia in Delhi. Today, history has repeated itself. Stalin is in a pre-arranged I.N.D.I. Alliance meeting when southern districts of Tamil Nadu are struggling due to floods. BJP also tweeted that this incident proves that Stalin is more dangerous than his father.
Stalin had reached Delhi quite early to attend the I.N.D.I. Alliance meeting. Ahead of the meeting, he met Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at Tamil Nadu Bhavan in Delhi.
Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Thoothukudi and Kanyakumari districts have been affected by the floods. 3 deaths have been confirmed so far. Many people are stranded in different places. Army and Air Force are jointly conducting the rescue operation there.
