Ahmedabad: ISRO Chairman S. Somanath stated that Bharat’s first solar mission, Aditya L-1, will reach its destination in January. Aditya L-1 is expected to reach the first Lagrange point (L1) on January 6. He made this announcement while addressing the Bhartiya Vigyan Sammelan organized in Ahmedabad.
“The 1st Lagrange Point, the destination of Aditya L-1, is 1.5 million kilometers from Earth. The arrival time will be announced later. The operation of the probe is satisfactory. Aditya L-1 will capture and share images of the Sun upon reaching its destination. Once it successfully reaches the L-1 point, information about the Sun will be available for the next five years”, the ISRO chairman said.
Aditya will gather crucial information not only for Bharat but also for the world. Bharat is emerging as a technologically powerful country. An increasing number of young people are venturing into space. Somanath also mentioned that ISRO is planning to construct an Indian space station called Bharatiya Space Station as per Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directive.
