Srinagar: Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and National Conference leader, Farooq Abdullah, made a controversial remark stating that Jammu and Kashmir will become Gaza if Bharat do not negotiate with Pakistan and find a solution to terrorism. He said that Kashmir will suffer the same fate as Gaza and Palestine if a solution to Kashmir is not found.
“Nawaz Sharif is about to become the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and they are saying that we are ready to talk (with Bharat), but what is the reason why we are not ready to talk?If we do not find a solution through dialogue, Kashmir will meet the same fate as Gaza and Palestine, which are being bombed by Israel…”, he warned. Farooq Abdullah’s remarks came after four soldiers were martyred in a terrorist attack on an army convoy in Poonch sector.
Bharat has already made it clear in international forums that talks with Pakistan are futile unless that country ends cross-border terrorism. Bharat’s stance is because of Pakistan’s continuous attempts to infiltrate Indian territory using terrorists.
