New Delhi:
The Union Home Ministry has sought a report on the security breach of the Governor in Kerala. Union Home Ministry issued a notification that central intelligence should submit the report today itself. The central intelligence has also been asked to detail the lapses in police security. The state intelligence had discovered that the security measures taken by the state police had been leaked to the protesters.
The Ministry of Home Affairs is seeking a report from the central intelligence amid widespread protests by SFI and DYFI against the Governor across the state. The central intelligence has also been asked to detail the failures of the police in ensuring the security of the Governor in the state. Intelligence agencies are also asked to specify in the report whether the Z plus category security are being implemented.
Earlier, the central intelligence had given a report that there was a lapse in the security provided to the Governor. After reviewing the report the Union Home Ministry is expected to take further steps. A decision on providing the security of the central forces to the Governor is also likely to be taken after this.
The Union Home Ministry is taking a serious stand on the assessment that a section of the Kerala Police was grossly negligent in providing adequate security to Governor Arif Mohammed Khan. The Union Home Ministry had earlier sought an explanation from the Chief Secretary in this regard. State intelligence has also found that the security measures taken by the state police were leaked to the protesters. Intelligence units are pointing out that the state intelligence had given three warning reports within 24 hours that the Governor will be shown black flags and attacked. Ignoring the warnings is taken as a huge security lapse.
