Lucknow: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tried to hog the limelight after lying low since the Congress faced a humiliating defeat at the Lok Sabha election. This time she questioned the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh. However, the UP cops hit back at the allegations with facts.

Priyanka Vadra in  a tweet accused the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh for surrendering to the criminals. She said that criminals are roaming freely and doing as they please.

Before long, Uttar Pradesh Police took to Twitter to respond to the Congress General Secretary’s accusations with facts and figures.

The UP police said that in the past two years 9225 hardened criminals across the State have been arrested and 81 serious criminals have been shot and killed in encounters. They also said that property worth of Rs. 200 crore have been seized under the National Security Act.

The police also claimed that with quick and prompt action, the crime rate of the State has been reduced dramatically to 35%. They said that that all high profile cases have been acted upon in 48 hours and many influential criminals have been caught.

The BJP government is Uttar Pradesh has taken a tough stand against organized crimes and individuals involved in illegal activities. The law and order situation in the State was pathetic and the present government has slowly begun to change the overall law and order situation of the state.
