While replying to a written question the MoS said, ” The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the states police have registered cases against IS members and sympathisers and have arrested 160 accused so far all over the country.”
The minister also said that the security agencies have noted instances when several individuals joined the ISIS from different states including Kerala.
Kerala has become a hot bed of ISIS sympathizers and members. Recently many were apprehended from the state for actively supporting the extreme fanatic Islamic organization.
The NIA had stepped up its vigil after the deadly Easter Day bombings in Sri Lanka. After intense raids across Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the NIA was able to nab several pro ISIS activists who were in contact with the mastermind of the Sri Lankan bombings.
