New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi interacted with beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) scheme via video conferencing. During the interaction, PM Modi inquired about the changes in the lives of women beneficiaries after receiving LPG cylinders.
“You must have started cooking new things which were difficult to prepare on a mud stove,” PM Modi remarked. After he humorously added, “What new dishes have you learned to cook?”
The beneficiary women then shared with the Prime Minister the positive transformations in their lives after obtaining LPG cylinders, electricity, drinking water, and houses.
PM Modi engaged with women beneficiaries following the distribution of the first installment of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) to one lakh beneficiaries, totaling Rs 540 crore.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the goal of the PM-JANMAN scheme is to enhance the socio-economic conditions of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) by providing essential facilities such as safe housing, clean drinking water, sanitation, improved access to education, health and nutrition, electricity, road and telecom connectivity, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. He added that the central government is committed to ensuring that no one is left out of these schemes.
