New Delhi: The uncertainty and the resignations in the Congress is continuing with another top leader, Jyotiraditya Scindia, quitting his post of General Secretary of AICC. His resignation follows the quitting of Milind Deora as the President of the Congress party in Mumbai.
The Congress leader wrote on his twitter handle, “Accepting the people’s verdict and taking accountability, I had submitted my resignation as General Secretary of AICC to Shri @RahulGandhi. I thank him for entrusting me with this responsibility and for giving me the opportunity to serve our party.”
In the morning the President of the Indian Youth Congress had also tendered his resignation by taking moral responsibility for the defeat of the party in the Lok Sabha elections.
Many top leaders have been resigning from their posts in solidarity with Rahul Gandhi who quit his post after taking responsibility for the party’s dismal performance. The party is now on the hunt for a new leader to replace the Gandhi scion. However, considering the culture of Congress party, which is dependent on a Gandhi for its unity and survival, a replacement is not an easy thing.
