Raipur: Three communist terrorists, including two women, were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday morning, according to police sources. The operation, conducted near Belam Gutta hills within the Basaguda Police Station limits, resulted in the recovery of arms and ammunition from them.
The encounter unfolded during a search operation at approximately 7:30 am, jointly executed by the Chhattisgarh police and the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) unit near the Belam Gutta Hills. The operation was prompted by information received regarding the presence of communist terrorists, including divisional committee members Vinod Karma, Awapalli LOS Raju Punem, ACM Vishwanath, and Guddu Telam, along with an estimated 20–25 accomplices.
Acting on the intelligence input, the joint team initiated the operation, leading to an encounter. Security forces are currently conducting further search operations in the vicinity.
