New Delhi: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced that there will be no alliance with the Congress in Punjab. Just hours after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee declared that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) would independently contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in the state, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) echoed a similar sentiment in Punjab. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today stated that his party, AAP, has “nothing to do with Congress” in Punjab.
It is mentioned that the disagreement over seat allocation is the reason for this backlash from AAP. The first crack in the I.N.D.I Alliance came to light when the Trinamool Congress expressed displeasure with the stance of giving only three seats in Bengal. A similar situation is unfolding in Punjab, where AAP opposes the alliance based on seat allocation.
