New Delhi: In the Cabinet meeting held on January 24, Prime Minister Narendra Modi requested the Union Ministers to avoid visiting the Ram temple in Ayodhya at least until March in view of the unprecedented rush. The PM suggested that to prevent inconvenience to the public caused by VIP protocols, Union ministers should plan their visits to Ayodhya in March.
A large number of devotees continue to visit Shri Ramjanmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya after the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla idol on January 22. The elaborate Pran Pratishtha ceremony unveiling the Ram Lalla idol, took place in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Amid tight security arrangements, around 5 lakh devotees visited the temple on Tuesday, when it opened for the public. Videos and pictures of tens of thousands gathered on the road and around the temple premises were widely circulated on social media. On Wednesday, the enthusiasm among the visiting and local devotees in Ayodhya was equally seen as the first day of the temple darshan.
The temple is likely to see a larger number of devotees in the coming days. The Ayodhya district administration has announced that the borders of the temple city have been temporarily closed in view of the rush. Officials also informed that more personnel have been deployed for security at the place.
Amid the huge rush of devotees in Ayodhya, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with officials in Lucknow to review the steps taken for crowd management. He advised VIPs and other dignitaries planning to visit the temple to inform the authorities at least 10 days in advance.
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi, in collaboration with the International Ramayan and Vedic Research Institute Department of Culture, Uttar Pradesh, will be organising the International Ramayan Utsav from January 24-28 at Ram Katha Park and Tulsi Udyan in Ayodhya. The festival will be joined by people from different nations including Sri Lanka, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Mauritius, and Laos.
