New Delhi: The year 2023 witnessed the golden age of Indian space sector. ISRO’s tableau on the Republic Day parade today at Kartavya Path depicted missions that have made India proud and its future missions.

ISRO’s theme for this year’s tableau was ‘Chandrayaan 3 – A Saga in the Indian Space History.’

Chandrayaan 3, which landed on the Moon’s south pole, and Aditya L-1, which is on a mission to explore the secrets of the Sun, took center stage in the tableau.

The tableau highlighted the proud moments such as the successful soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon’s Shivashakti point on August 23, 2023 and the deployment of the Pragyan rover.  A picture of Chandrayaan 3 taking off from Sriharikota on the wings of Mark-3 was also included.

The tableau also featured Aditya L1, India’s first solar mission. It also highlighted future missions like the Gaganyaan project, aimed at achieving human space flight by 2025 and  the establishment of a ‘Bharatiya Antariksh Station’ by 2035.

The tableau portrayed women scientists for their contributions and featured carved images of ancient astronomers and pioneers in the field of space like Aryabhatta and Varahamihir.
