Varanasi: The Varanasi court granted permission for Hindu devotees to offer prayers inside the ‘Vyas Ka Tekhana’ area within the Gyanvapi complex. The court has directed the district administration to facilitate the necessary arrangements within the next seven days.
Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain, representing the Hindu side, told the court’s decision, stating, “Puja will start within seven days. Everyone will have the right to perform Puja.” He further states that the Hindu side has been granted permission to offer prayers at ‘Vyas Ka Tekhana,’ with the district administration instructed to make suitable arrangements within a seven-day period.
The Gyanvapi complex has four ‘tahkhanas’ (cellars) in the basement, with one still in the possession of the Vyas family, who used to reside in this area. The hereditary pujari (priest) from the Vyas family petitioned the court, seeking permission to enter the tahkhana (cellar) and resume the pooja (ritual worship).
