New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, addressing the Parliament, announced the government’s intent to enhance the healthcare infrastructure in the country by establishing more medical colleges and improving the facilities of government hospitals.
She also disclosed the government’s intention to form a new committee dedicated to investigating pertinent issues and providing recommendations for the expansion of medical colleges. Based on the committee’s suggestions, the government aims to upgrade additional hospitals to the status of medical colleges.
The Finance Minister declared the next five years a period of unprecedented development, anticipating significant progress in the healthcare domain.
Furthermore, the government plans to allocate funds for the vaccination to prevent cervical cancer. Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted that girls aged between nine and 14 will be the beneficiaries of this initiative over the next five years.
