Bengaluru: Tamil Nadu Minister and CM Stalin’s son, Udhayanidhi Stalin, has been summoned by a Bengaluru Court in connection with his provocative and derogatory remarks on Sanatana Dharma. The court has instructed him to appear on March 4, based on a complaint filed by a Bengaluru native. Udhayanidhi Stalin has been charged as accused number one in the criminal case.
The court has acknowledged offenses under Sections 153 (pertaining to the wanton provocation with the intent to cause a riot), 298 (relating to uttering words with deliberate intent to wound religious feelings), and 500 (involving defamation) of the Indian Penal Code.
The incident leading to the case occurred on September 2nd when Udhayanidhi Stalin attended a conference in Chennai and compared ‘Sanatana Dharma’ to diseases like ‘dengue’ and ‘malaria,’ suggesting that it should be eradicated. This incident sparked numerous controversies.
The Madras High Court criticized the Tamil Nadu state police for not taking action on Udhayanidhi’s derogatory remarks. The Madras High Court also stated that no individual has the right to abolish any ideology.
Despite the court’s criticisms and suggestions, Udhayanidhi Stalin continued to repeat controversial remarks against Hindu believers. In response to this situation, the Bengaluru Court has summoned Udhayanidhi Stalin to appear in court on March 4.
