Meerut: The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS) has arrested Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent, identified as Satyendra Siwal, who was posted at the Indian Embassy in Moscow.

Satyendra Siwal, a native of Hapur, had been serving at the Embassy since 2021 in the position of Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) at the Ministry of External Affairs.

The arrest followed a tip-off received by the Anti-Terrorism Squad regarding a spy operating within the Indian Embassy in Moscow. Upon questioning Satyendra Siwal, who initially provided unsatisfactory responses, he eventually confessed to spying and was arrested in Meerut.

During the interrogation process, Satyendra Siwal disclosed that he used to lure Indian government officials with money to extract sensitive information pertaining to the Indian Army’s day-to-day operations. Additionally, he stands accused of transmitting crucial and confidential details about the Indian Embassy, Ministry of Defence, and External Affairs to ISI handlers. The UP ATS is conducting further investigations into this case.
