Bhubaneswar: Two female communist terrorists surrendered to police in Boudh, Odisha, before IGP (Southern Range) Jai Narayan Pankaj. Associated with the Mahanadi Area Committee of the Kandhamal-Kalahandi-Boudh-Nayagarh (KKBN) division of the CPI (Maoist), they were involved in violent incidents in Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
Their decision to surrender stems from dissatisfaction with the conduct of senior leaders within the organization. According to police reports, the duo accused senior leaders of promoting cannabis cultivation and trade, disrupting electoral processes, sexually harassing female cadre, extorting funds through intimidation, and deceiving young recruits with false promises and propaganda.
The presence of KKBN communist terrorists has been notable in the Boudh and Kandhamal areas for the past six months, as confirmed by the IGP. He further acknowledged that clashes between communist terrorists and security personnel have been frequent occurrences in these regions.
